    UNNAMED TEXT ADVENTURE #001

Post by killerhammer on Sun Dec 01, 2013 6:38 am

You awaken in a small, dimly lit room. You stand, your hair barely brushing against the low ceiling, and look around.

You see a brushed metal door with a latch, similar to the door of a meat locker. You would have to crouch to exit through it without bashing your head on the top of the doorjamb.

You also see a small, uncomfortable-looking cot, which you were sleeping on.

You also see a flimsy-looking writing desk with no chair, above which a framed portrait of Margaret Thatcher hangs, presumably bolted to the tiled walls.

A light fixture, covered by a sturdy metal grate, is embedded in the otherwise empty ceiling.

    What do you do?

Upon closer inspection, the portrait of Mrs. Thatcher has its mouth cut out, her pursey lips replaced with a simple slit, probably wide enough for you to stick your forearm into. The portrait also appears to be printed on a stretchy rubber membrane, impervious to attempts to tear and rip it apart with your bare hands. There is some give to the portrait, indicating the fact that behind it is just empty air.

You stuff your arm into Mrs. Thatcher's mouth up to the elbow, feeling around for anything useful. Your fingers brush something with the texture of burlap and you grab it, withdrawing your arm from Mrs. Thatcher.

Your arm appears to be covered with a black sludge, which sinks into your skin, leaving no trace other than the slightly cold feeling spreading up your arm.

You have aquired a small burlap sack, which appears to be full of items. It's closed with a piece of knotted twine.

The sack contains a small key, a ball-peen hammer, and a wristwatch. The watch's face is broken, a number of buttons decorating the sides of it.

Upon looking up again, the portrait of Margaret Thatcher appears to have vanished, leaving nothing behind but blank tile wall.

You utter a quick prayer for Margaret Thatcher. May her travels be safe, and may her feet be swift wherever she may step.

The door appears to be made out of a thick metallic substance, possibly lead. There is a keyhole above the latch, in which the key you got from Margaret Thatcher fits perfectly.
