    Albums you own/want

Post by Kyle on Mon Apr 23, 2012 11:57 pm

If you haven't listened to enough albums to constitute a Top 20, just list albums you own and ones you'd like to own:

    OWN:
Greatest Hits Albums from Billy Joel (1&2), Queen (1,2,3)
A Hard Day's Night, Abbey Road, Beatles For Sale, Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, Revolver, Rubber Soul, Past Masters, Sgt. Pepper, The Beatles - The Beatles
    Artificial Heart - Jonathan Coulton
Band On The Run - Wings
Super Meat Boy - Danny Baranowsky
    Lifeformed - Fastfall (Dustforce OST)
Red Extensions of Me, Kirlian Selections - The Flashbulb
Rise of the Obsidian Interstellar - Disasterpeace
Some others (mostly GREATEST HITSZSZS) in a binder I "borrowed" from my dad when I moved out that I rarely listen to

    WANT:
    Anthology 2 (Beatles)
    Thing A Week 1-4 (JoCo)
    The Doors (Yes)
    Hardscrabble (The Flashbulb)
Some Rush albums would be nice too

As you can see, I have terrible taste in music.

I think that my parents and I own 400+ albums (not kidding), so I'm not going to bother listing them. I could pretty easily list the ones that were given to me as gifts, however. I might do that later.

    Want:
    Morning View (Incubus)
    Figure 8 (Elliott Smith)
From A Basement On The Hill (Elliott Smith) [maybe]
    XO (Elliott Smith) [maybe]
    Title of Record (Filter)
    Bleach (Nirvana)
    Being There (Wilco)
    Let It Be (The Beatles)
Any other Beatles albums I don't have
    Amok (Atoms For Peace)
    What's Going On (Marvin Gaye)

EDIT: erased all the ones I now have

Updated list: Why is my beatles collection so damn big

To add content: Here's a rundown of all of my songs on Banshee by artist:

    The Beatles (146)
Queen (34 [I actually have 51 Queen songs but the third greatest hits album is terrible])
    Billy Joel (25)
    Jonathan Coulton (25)
    Wings (9)
    Dave Brubeck (1)

I'd add more albums to my media player but meh

    Albums I want on vinyl:
    Kid A-Radiohead
    OK Computer-Radiohead
    Amnesiac-Radiohead
    In Rainbows-Radiohead
    Hail to the Thief-Radiohead
Dark Side of the Moon-Pink Floyd
    The Wall-Pink Floyd
    Wish You Were Here-Pink Floyd
    Demon Days-Gorillaz
    Amok-Atoms For Peace

But I'd be a happy man with just Kid A. Dark Side of the Moon or OK Computer would be my next priority.

You can bring CDs with you in the car and stuff. And, if you don't have an iPod and you only have a CD player, they're a great way of listening to music. Plus, I don't know about you but I find there to be satisfying about holding a physical CD in your hand.

Albums I own (no particular order):
    Silent Alarm- Block Party
    OK Computer- Radiohead
    American Idiot- Green Day
Vices and Virtues- Panic! at the Disco
The Goat Rodeo Sessions- Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, Edgar Meyer, Chris Thile
    Making Mirrors- Gotye
    Piano Man- Billy Joel
Don't Get Smart- Jim's Big Ego
    Astro Lounge- Smash Mouth
Several musical soundtracks, and possibly others that I can't remember.

Albums I want (again no particular order):
    Amok- Atoms for Peace
    Kid A- Radiohead
    King of Limbs- Radiohead
    Meteora- Linkin Park
    Like Drawing Blood- Gotye

i have all my beatles albums in CD form because reasons, but all my other albums i got digitally off of bandcamp or amazon

Hey, do you guys think turning this into a want/have/would recommend thread like the games one would be a cool idea?

Anyway, here are some albums I have (and would recommend):
Grow Up and Blow Away - Metric
Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? - Metric
    Live It Out - Metric
    Fantasies - Metric

All of them sound fairly different, so if you don't like one or two of them I'd still suggest listening to the others.
    Spoiler:
    Hint: I like Metric.

I was looking at the music section of Best Buy today when me and my mom went to get a camera for my grandmother, with the intention of actually purchasing an album or two.

They didn't have anything I wanted. Which is lame, because I've never owned a physical copy of an album before. Or owned an album before. I wish there were record stores near me or something, but I think the closest thing like that is in Boston and there's no point in go there for just some albums, unless I'm buying a shitton of stuff.
