Tateos's List of Beatifully Meaningful Media/Works of Art

Post by Alex on Sun Jan 08, 2012 6:23 pm

I will continue to add onto this as long as the site is active. Probably even after that too. Feel free to add to this or make your own list if you'd like.

But anyways, I've listened to, watched, and read a lot of rather profound things over the past few years, and I figured I'd share them with you guys. Just remember that sometimes, in order to find the meaning of something, you have to think abstractly, but sometimes it's critical that you don't, that you ponder the meaning simply. Also keep in mind that boredom is just the lack of thought, understanding, or stimulation. However, thought+understanding=stimulation.

    MOVIES:
    Baraka
    BOOKS:
East of Eden by John Steinbeck
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
    Siddhartha
    MUSIC:
The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
    The Wall by Pink Floyd
    Sea Change by Beck
    Quadrophenia by The Who
    Kid A by Radiohead
    OK Computer by Radiohead

You should watch some Malick films.

    Kid A's formula:
    stimulation=stimulation

I haven't pondered the meaning of this album that much, but the music is moving. It's almost as though the instrumental piece communicates to you, with the lyrics and Thom Yorke's singing acting as a translator. And that, in itself, is beautiful.
